Follow These Steps To Get Your Texas Real Estate License

1) Verify License Requirements For How To Get Your Texas Real Estate License

To be eligible to apply for a real estate Salesperson License, an individual:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien
  • Must be a legal resident of Texas
  • Meet TREC’s qualifications for honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity
  • Must furnish the Commission evidence of completion of the following education:
    • Principles of Real Estate I  (30 classroom hours)
    • Principles of Real Estate II  (30 classroom hours)
    • Law of Agency  (30 classroom hours)
    • Law of Contracts  (30 classroom hours)
    • Promulgated Contracts & Forms  (30 classroom hours)
    • Real Estate Finance  (30 classroom hours)

2) Find A Texas Real Estate School

Find a school to learn how to get your real estate license. You can either take your courses in a classroom setting or online courses from the comfort of your own home; the online classes allow you to finish at your own pace and from anywhere.  For your convenience, American School of Real Estate Express is an accredited Texas online real estate school.



 

 

3) File Your Application To Take Your Texas Real Estate Exam

Apply Online

Submit your application and fee to become a Sales Agent using our Online Services. If you don’t already have a username and password for our Online Services, register now. If you have registered online with TALCB or TREC in the past, log in now.

Apply by Mail

If you prefer, you can also apply for your Sales Agent license using our paper application. This may take longer to process and you will need to pay a paper filing fee.

Education course completion documents must be submitted to TREC after applying online or with your paper application.
